Dr. Daniel Ober served in various executive leadership roles including Chief Medical Officer, and Senior Clinical Executive as well as Senior Clinical Operations lead supporting Cigna Global Health Benefits North America since 2014 . Primary responsibilities included interactions with external clients, medical professionals and prospective multinational clients and development of a global clinical team of more than 100 clinicians internationally. Dr.Ober also represented the clinical voice and perspective at the executive leadership table. Daniel also served as the senior clinical representative for premium key global accounts and premiere clients, responsible for contributing to the development and continued advancement of health care and network strategies for our Key Global Accounts as well as accountable for providing clinical subject matter expertise in support of Key Global Account clients, consultants, as well as potential clients, supporting new and existing clients, sales, operations, contract and networks. Dr, Ober also led the clinical and strategic direction of Cigna's Key Global Accounts and global clinical operations strategy which effectively implemented a global team of 100+ clinicians to drive an evidence-based global health and wellbeing clinical strategy.
Dr. Ober initially joined Cigna in 2001 and has served in a number of roles, including National Medical Director for Cigna HealthCare National Accounts. In this position, he promoted health and wellness initiatives and healthcare integration, and actively managed clinical outcomes and metrics by identifying improvement opportunities, managing costs, and supporting highest quality initiatives. Dr. Ober has also held senior leadership roles in health advocacy, credentialing, quality, medical management as well as payment and reimbursement.
In 2010, he was appointed Chief Medical Officer for Cigna Global Health Benefits. In this role, Dr. Ober was responsible for the development of innovative, effective and cost-effective clinical strategies, wellness initiatives and quality medical care products and services to enhance the health and well-being of Cigna’s globally mobile population by defining and driving an innovative global clinical and wellbeing strategy. During his tenure the global clinical team expanded to over 100 clinicians and countries. Prior to joining Cigna, Dr. Ober served as Assistant Professor and Director of Medical Education, and Family Practice Program Director at Dartmouth Medical College. Before Dartmouth, he was in private practice in Amherst, New Hampshire where he practiced Family Medicine, Obstetrics, and Hospice Care.
Dr. Ober earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from St. Anselm College and graduated from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine as Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. He did his internship at Warren Hospital and completed his residency at Warren Hospital Family Practice/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Medical Specialties. He is also board certified in Family Medicine and Surgery, as well as Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine.
