Meet The Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Medical Tourism Coporation | Caribe Health Summit
Francisco G. Bonet, director for the Puerto Rico Medical Tourism Corporation, received his Master’s Degree in International Business from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. He also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and International Relations. In 2008, Mr. Bonet participated in a Student Exchange Program specialized in Asian Commerce at the University of Communicationin Beijing, China.
He has over 14 years of professional experience in a wide array of capacities in both public and private sectors. His areas of expertise include international business development, tourism, technology, financial services, among others. Mr. Bonet has developed several business initiatives focusing on the Caribbean and the Latin American markets.
Within the public sector, he has occupied several executive level positions within the Puerto Rico Tourism Company and the Department of Economic Development and Commerce.
In 2014, the Governor and Secretary of Economic Development of Puerto Rico appointed him as executive director for the Puerto Rico Medical Tourism Corporation, responsible for developing one of the key strategic initiatives for the administration.
During the last two years, Mr. Bonet has been instrumental in the coordination and execution of the entire medical tourism program, including training and certification of participating providers, marketing and promotional efforts, and the implementation of a concierge center for the medical tourism patients.
Due to his leadership, today Puerto Rico is positioned as the premier destination for medical tourism in the Caribbean. Mr. Bonet will be addressing all the reasons for which buyers of healthcare, dacilitators and organizations interested in medical tourism in the US and the Caribbean Market, should participate in the 2nd Caribe Health Summit taking place in San Juan, Puerto Rico June 9, 2016.
